Data governance & compliance
Governance breaks the moment data leaves the system that governed it. PostAuth makes the file self-protecting — encrypted and policy-bound at rest, in transit and in use — so privacy, access and integrity hold wherever it goes.
of service organisations must comply with six or more security and privacy frameworks.
of compliance officers are implementing a demonstrably compliant culture.
risk and compliance professionals point to automation as the way to cut complexity and cost.
Managing data effectively is what keeps you secure and compliant, and encryption does the load-bearing work. PostAuth puts privacy, access and integrity under your control at the file level — so governance holds no matter where the file travels, and a breach yields ciphertext instead of a disclosure event.
Pick a framework. The obligations differ; the mechanism that satisfies them — persistent file-level encryption with attached policy and audit — does not.
Who accessed the data, how, and when — captured at the file, streamed to the tools your auditors already trust.
Events originate where the data is, so copies outside the estate are still accounted for.
Real-time delivery into SIEM and SOAR supports anomaly detection and automated response.
Reconstruct a file's access history for an auditor without a manual evidence hunt.
GOVERNANCE IN EVERYDAY WORK
Connect the people using data, the team protecting it, and the people reviewing the evidence.

File-level controls evaluate access while protection stays attached to the data.
Access granted or denied against policy
File-access activity provides the records needed to investigate and review how policy operates.
Events connected to your security tooling
Encryption and policy travel with the file across devices and storage, adding protection beyond the network perimeter.

Governance is a set of promises about privacy, access and integrity. Encryption at the file level is what makes those promises enforceable once data leaves the system that governed it — the rule travels with the file instead of being re-implemented per platform.
Anything a framework names: personal data under GDPR and CCPA, PHI under HIPAA, CUI under CMMC and NIST 800-171, customer financial records under GLBA, export-controlled technical data under ITAR. In practice, encrypting by default is simpler to defend than maintaining exceptions.
Policy attaches at creation and is inherited by every copy, so classification stays bound to the file rather than to a folder location someone can move it out of.
Traditional DLP has to recognise a violation in the moment. Persistent encryption changes the outcome rather than the detection: if a file leaves, what leaves is ciphertext, and access can be revoked after the fact.
Because decryption requires key authorisation, every open becomes an enforcement point. Policy evaluates identity, device, network and workspace context per request instead of trusting a one-time entitlement.
FIPS 140-2 validated AES-256, keys held in an HSM and never exposed to the endpoint, protection that persists in use as well as at rest and in transit, context-aware policy, dynamic revocation on copies already shared, and file-level audit events that stream into existing SIEM tooling.
